Film.
Combining timelapse and drone photography into short landscape films is a very therapeutic pastime for me. In contrast to still photography, film communicates the energy and impact of a location in an exceptionally distinct way.
Recollection
A practice of collecting or concentrating the mind, of gathering it back together, reflected in the endless rising, falling, and rising again of tides, of sun and moon, stars and galaxies, in an infinite dance of expansion and contraction. Shot primarily around New South Wales’ Central Coast, Blue Mountains, and Sapphire Coast regions.
Sentinels
This short film focuses on the harsh beauty of the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. After massive bushfires tore through in the summer of 2019, I was struck by the resilience of the bush. I wanted to create a piece with very little camera movement that reflects the austere jurassic sandstone structures and blackened dead banksia trees that stand on permanent watch like guardians over the landscape.
