Bushrangers Bay, N.S.W.

Indigenous Australians, known as the Elouera people, have been living in the area of Bushrangers Bay for at least 20,000 years. The Elouera were identified as fresh or salt water people due to their occupation of particular marine or estuarine landscapes and their use of the natural resources found in these environments. Essentially, they lived a hunter/gatherer lifestyle, governed by the sustainable use of their surrounding environment and the available resources.
