Cobar, N.S.W.
Cobar is a town located in the Western Plains region of New South Wales. It is primarily a mining town containing copper, gold, silver, lead, and zinc mines. The Cobar district was the traditional home of the Ngemba and Wongaibon Aboriginal people. Prior to the discovery of copper in 1870, the Cobar district was made up of huge pastoral holdings which relied heavily on the Darling River trade.
