Oberon, N.S.W.

Oberon was settled as a town in the Central Tablelands bordering the Blue Mountains in the early 1800’s, and named Bullock Flats. It was later renamed Oberon after a character from a Shakespeare play. It’s a popular destination in winter due to the heavy snowfalls it receives. Prior to colonial times, the area was managed for tens of thousands of years by clans of the Gundungurra people.
